The North American League (IND) was an independent professional baseball league founded in 2010. The league consisted of a merger of three independent leagues, the Northern League of Illinois, United League Baseball of Texas, and the Golden Baseball League based in the Western United States and Western Canada and was a last-ditch effort to save the teams in said league. It played only two season in 2011 and 2012.

The North American League recruited college, ex-major and ex-minor league players. Former affiliated-league players that get injured or have other circumstances would also join the NAL as an opportunity to get resigned by major league organizations. Other players consisted of college players that were not drafted into MiLB, but seek the opportunity to be seen by major league scouts and possibly get signed by major league organizations.
