International Association in 1889

Introduction

The International Association was a minor league baseball league that operated in the eastern United States during the late 19th century. It was formed when the New York State League joined with Canadian teams based in Ontario. It was known as the International League in 1886 and 1887 and was renamed the International Association for 1888 and 1889. The league played season 5 in 1889, 137 years ago.

The International Association would eventually go on to form the International League, one of the top minor league teams in all of Baseball.
