Introduction
The International League was a minor league baseball league that operated in the eastern United States during the late 19th century. It was formed when the New York State League joined with Canadian teams based in Ontario. The league played season 2 in 1886, 140 years ago.
The International League is one of the top minor league teams in all of Baseball. Its beginning started in 1885 as the New York State League. Then that league and the Ontario League merged in 1886 to form the International League. In 1887 the league absorbed teams from the Eastern League to create a larger league.
